Trauma-Informed Training for Organizations

I work with organizations to give staff tools to support their own health and wellness while creating safe, sensitive and welcoming spaces for trauma survivors, particularly those who have experienced gender-based violence.

Organizational trauma-informed trainings can be tailored to meet the needs of all types of professionals - therapists, nurses, teachers, lawyers, nonprofit leaders, and more.

    What?

Trauma-informed trainings that empower staff to create safe and welcoming spaces for people who have experienced sexual violence while also learning critical skills for caring for themselves and sustaining their work.

    Why?

Given that one in three women experiences sexual trauma, if your team is working with women, you’re working with survivors. Because of this, creating trauma-sensitive spaces for survivors dramatically increases the quality and integrity of our work.

    How?

I’ll meet with you to learn about your specific goals and organizational needs, and then work with you to create a customized training plan for your team. Trainings are offered both virtually and in person.

What Will We Learn?

If you don’t find the answers to your questions here, please feel free to connect with me.

My organizational trainings provide a window into the holistic impacts of sexual trauma and the lived experiences of survivors, particularly women of color and women who are a part of marginalized communities.

Because every organization has its own unique needs, I’ll work with you to design a training that fits your specific team.

Training topics can include:

  • Building the Foundation: key tools for creating trauma-sensitive spaces for survivors and caring for yourself

  • The Neurobiology of Trauma: the science of how our bodies and minds respond to traumatic experiences (both first-person and vicarious trauma)

  • Yoga and Mindfulness for Healing Sexual Trauma: trauma-informed yoga approaches and techniques for healing the impacts of sexual trauma

  • Race, Gender, Justice and Yoga: how to hold space for survivors through the lenses of anti-racism and anti-oppression

  • Putting it Into Practice: the practicalities of teaching trauma-informed yoga and creating safe spaces for survivors

Each training participant will provide participants with one-on-one coaching, time to practice trauma-informed techniques, and additional learning resources.
