Books I Love
Reading has always been a way for me to calm my body and cool my spinning mind. I’m pretty picky about what I read and when I love a book, I love it deeply.
Even though I’ve read hundreds (if not thousands) of books, my actual bookshelf is relatively sparse because I love giving away books after I’ve read them.
Below are some of my all-time favorite reads.
You Were Born For This
by Chani Nicholas
Chani is the real deal - a teacher, poet, writer, astrologer, friend. This book has helped me to understand myself and make big decisions based on my unique astrological map.
Devotions
by Mary Oliver
Mary Oliver - Pulitzer prize winning poet and queer survivor - has long been one of my heroes. I love the way that her poetry uses nature as a portal to the divine.
Wuthering Heights
by Emily Brontë
One of the first novels I loved. It’s dark and brooding, like so much of my early life.
Anna Karenina
by Leo Tolstoy
I’m in awe of Tolstoy’s character development. This novel gripped me.
Emergent Strategy
by adrienne maree brown
I’m so grateful for what this book taught me about community collective leadership and using nature as a teacher.
The Overstory
by Richard Powers
The Overstory makes trees its main character. I read it during my first trimester, so it’s indelibly etched into a special part of my brain.
The Bean Trees
by Barbara Kingsolver
A gorgeous story about trauma, love, and an unlikely mother-daughter bond. Unforgettable descriptions of Arizona deserts.
Radiant Rest
by Tracee Stanley

The Book of Chakras
